SHARE
Following the official recognition of Switzerland Innovation Park Ticino as an affiliate of the Zurich Park within the national Switzerland Innovation network, Fondazione Agire has officially completed the transition of the Park’s management to the newly established Switzerland Innovation Park Ticino SA, a non-profit organization formed today in Bellinzona. This crucial step marks the beginning of a new phase for the Park, which will now be managed by a dedicated structure.
Mandated by the Canton, Fondazione Agire played a pivotal role in the creation and launch of the Park, working closely with institutions, the economic sector, and the academic research community to build an innovation ecosystem that highlights the strengths of the region.
The new organizational structure, Switzerland Innovation Park Ticino SA, is based on an equal capital contribution model involving key stakeholders: the Canton of Ticino, BancaStato, the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Handicraft, and Services of Canton Ticino (Cc-Ti), the Ticino Industries Association (AITI), Università della Svizzera italiana (USI), and the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI). The Board of Directors includes Mauro Dell’Ambrogio (representing the Canton and serving as Chairman), Gabriele Zanzi (member of BancaStato’s Executive Board), Andrea Gehri (President of Cc-Ti), Oliviero Pesenti (President of AITI), Luisa Lambertini (Rector of USI), and Emanuele Carpanzano (Director of Research, Development, and Knowledge Transfer at SUPSI). Gianmaria Frapolli has been appointed as Director of Switzerland Innovation Park Ticino SA.
These developments mark a significant milestone in the full realization of Innovation Park Ticino, a project aimed at strengthening the regional economy by promoting research and development projects in collaboration with local universities and companies. The Park seeks to facilitate knowledge exchange, provide dedicated spaces for innovative activities, and attract businesses and talent. This initiative contributes to making Ticino an increasingly competitive and attractive Canton, capable of offering new high-value-added jobs.
