Lugano, September 16, 2025 – With around 250 participants from Switzerland and Northern Italy, Action Day 2025 brought together entrepreneurs, managers, and specialists today at the Palazzo dei Congressi for a day of discussion on innovation and business digitalization.
Organized by Fondazione Agire, with the support of Canton Ticino, AITI, Innosuisse, and the Regional Development Agencies (ERS), Action Day offered 11 conferences and 3 thematic roundtables dedicated to key trends such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, process automation, and new digital skills.
Highlights included keynotes from Dalith Steiger-Gablinger and Andy Fitze of SwissCognitive, and Umberto Michelucci (TOELT LLC, Google Developer Expert in Machine Learning), who, together with other speakers, explored today’s challenges and opportunities for SMEs. During her talk, Dalith Steiger-Gablinger emphasized that “AI is accelerating the curve of innovation and influencing every sector of activity. To stay competitive, it is necessary to think big and scale up, without neglecting the ethical dimension, since every technology carries its own cultural bias.”
“Action Day shows how innovation is no longer a choice but a condition for competitiveness,” said Lorenzo Ambrosini, Director of Fondazione Agire. “Today’s participation and debate confirm the willingness of Ticino’s economic fabric to face technological change,” added Stefano Colombo, newly appointed President of Agire.
Action Day was also an opportunity for Fondazione Agire to reiterate the role of its free services as a concrete lever to foster innovation in Ticino’s economic landscape. “We do not directly implement projects, but we facilitate their launch within companies, collaborating with local providers without ever replacing them,” explained Andrea Barni, Digital Coach and Deputy Director of Agire.
During the event, the AITI Innovation Desk was also introduced: a new channel of dialogue and support for member companies, designed to accompany them in their transformation and development paths.
In the coming months, Agire will continue its activities in support of businesses through its Digital Coach program, thematic webinars, workshops, and initiatives dedicated to startups and innovation in general.
Fondazione Agire thanks all sponsors, speakers, and participants who contributed to the success of the event and announces the fourth edition of Action Day, scheduled for September 10, 2026 at the Palazzo dei Congressi in Lugano.
