The eighth edition of Boldbrain kicked off yesterday

Last night in Manno, at the headquarters of the Agire Foundation and the Tecnopolo Ticino, the eighth edition of our accelerator officially kicked off.

In the presence of the 20 coaches (consultants) involved in the program, together with promoters and representatives of the sponsors, the 2025 teams took part in the traditional “Kick-off Meeting”: the first occasion for coaches and participants to meet, marking the official start of a journey made up of thematic workshops, individual coaching sessions, and dedicated events. Among all the competing teams, only 10 will earn a place at the final Award Ceremony, scheduled for December 3, 2025, where numerous prizes provided by organizers, supporters, and sponsors will be presented, with a total prize pool exceeding 200,000 Swiss francs.

This year’s selection confirms the heterogeneity of the submitted projects, with a predominance of ICT (22%), followed by Social Entrepreneurship/Education and by Sport/Leisure/Tourism/Lifestyle. This reflects Boldbrain’s positioning as a horizontal accelerator, focused on innovation and scalability across sectoral boundaries. Among the 78 eligible applications, 27% already have a prototype, 7 have reached the beta stage, 8 are already on the market, and 19 are incorporated companies.

From the 20 selected startups – for the first time all Swiss – 16 projects come from Ticino, 3 from Zurich, and 1 from Zug, highlighting both the vitality of the national innovation ecosystem and Boldbrain’s growing reputation across Switzerland. Of these, 4 are already incorporated companies and 8 have a prototype ready. The projects will be officially presented to the public only at the end of the program, during the Award Ceremony in December.
