Applications open for Boldbrain Startup Challenge 2023

Applications are now open for the sixth edition of our accelerator Boldbrain Startup Challenge. The accelerator is aimed at startups or early-stage ideas of an innovative nature, regardless of business sector. Applications from abroad are allowed under the condition that the initiators are planning to develop their idea in Ticino. Applications for the program can be submitted until June 16, 11:50 PM. In the 2023 edition, the program will be enhanced by the support of new major partners and a networking event aimed at fostering connections between competing teams and companies and institutions that have decided to support Boldbrain Startup Challenge. The accelerator is constantly developing and aims to further increase its popularity beyond our territorial borders, as proven by its participation in the 2023 edition of START Summit – Europe’s leading entrepreneurship conference, held at the end of March in St. Gallen – where Boldbrain’s booth attracted the interest of numerous students, investors, and entrepreneurs from all over the world.

In its first five years of operation, the accelerator received more than 500 applications, from which 100 startups – 20 per edition – were selected to participate in the program. Of these, 50 percent have incorporated in Ticino and 25 percent are, or have been, incubated at USI Startup Centre. Over the five editions held between 2018 and 2022, Boldbrain Startup Challenge has handed out a considerable amount of prizes amounting to nearly 1 million francs in value between cash and in-kind prizes.
