Fondazione Agire successfully organized the second edition of Action Day, an event to encourage Ticino-based companies and entrepreneurs to explore innovative solutions to tackle the challenges of digital transformation. The event further solidified Fondazione Agire's role as a leading figure in innovation for Ticino SMEs.
The second edition of Action Day, organized by Fondazione Agire with the support of Canton Ticino, AITI, the City of Lugano, Ated, Women in Tech, and the Regional Development Agencies (ERS), took place today at the Palazzo dei Congressi in Lugano, with the participation of approximately 300 professionals, entrepreneurs, and industry experts. The event provided a unique opportunity to explore the challenges and opportunities of digital transformation, focusing on artificial intelligence and its growing impact on the world of work.
The Action Day 2024 program featured 12 thematic presentations on two vertical topics - technological factor and human factor - along with technological demonstrations and practical case studies. These offerings provided a tangible view of how digital technologies, particularly artificial intelligence, are already transforming the workplace. The concluding roundtable sparked a stimulating and crucial discussion on pressing issues: Should companies adopt AI immediately or wait to see how it evolves? Does artificial intelligence threaten jobs or create new opportunities? Are those who do not invest in these technologies today at risk of losing competitiveness? Additionally, the discussion reflected on the educational role needed to prepare individuals for the use of these innovations and the future of placing the human element at the center of the business system, despite advancing technology.
Lorenzo Ambrosini, Director of Fondazione Agire, commented: "Action Day is becoming a crucial event for Ticino companies that want to ride the wave of digital transformation. The success of the event reflects the growing interest of companies in these issues and their willingness to embrace change. Fondazione Agire will continue to support Ticino businesses in their innovation journey, providing tools and knowledge to successfully navigate this evolution."
Digital Coach Andrea Barni, the event's initiator, added: "Companies must navigate a constantly changing world. Through initiatives like Action Day, we aim to provide them with the tools to understand and implement new technologies, emphasizing the people who drive their adoption. Action Day has demonstrated not only how AI can be a powerful accelerator for companies but also the importance of leadership that values human contribution in an increasingly automated context."
Fondazione Agire thanks all the sponsors, speakers, and participants who contributed to the success of the event and announces the third edition of Action Day, scheduled for September 16, 2025, at the Palazzo dei Congressi in Lugano.
