The evolution of managerial culture

From the 1980s to today, managerial culture has shifted from a model centered on control, hierarchies, and predictability to a paradigm focused on continuous learning. In a context of structural uncertainty, planning and control are no longer enough: innovation must be embedded into day-to-day management through rapid experimentation, continuous feedback, and cross-functional teams. The manager becomes a facilitator, fostering responsible autonomy, transparency, and psychological safety. In this framework, Artificial Intelligence can deliver real value only when paired with skills development and organizational change—not as a standalone technology project, but as an integrated lever that strengthens adaptability, productivity, and resilience.
