Gaia Turbine is a Ticino-based startup that is making small- and medium-scale hydropower easier to deploy with a fully plug-and-play turbine packaged in a ready-to-use container. The system integrates the generator, electrical panels, valves and advanced sensors for remote monitoring, so installation is quick—just prepare a base, connect the pipeline and the grid, and clean energy can be produced in just a few days with minimal environmental impact. The company has already tested a prototype, installed a pilot turbine in Ticino (AMB), and raised CHF 2.1 million to expand the team, file additional international patents, and move toward industrializing the product.
